Citizens, the state-run insurer, will be increasing rates for new business policies effective January 1, 2023. Make sure you have had a wind mitigation study completed to ensure you get full credits for your home’s mitigation features. Discounts are offered for roofs installed after 2003, and credits are based on how the decking is attached to the trusses, and the trusses are attached to the dwelling. You may also hurricane-proof all exterior openings for even more credits.
